Entering and leaving Lenox Hill Hospital – The best option is to use the front (main) entrance at 100 East 77th Street and walk in or out as others are entering or leaving.
Shabbat Elevator is located opposite the patient transport elevators, it goes from the first floor to the top floor and then stops at each floor on the way down; There is a sign indicating “Shabbos elevator.”
Staircases between floors are unlocked.
Carrying items in the hospital is permitted.
Electronically locked doors within the hospital include entrances to the Maternity Unit. Either knock on the door or enter/leave with others.
None of the visitor restrooms on patient floors or in the main lobby have automatic toilets or automatic lights. Some have an automatic sink and/or automatic dryer.
